Revolution Conference 2017: The Future of Delivery Messenger Channels

Revolution Conference Messenger

The Revolution Conference 2017, a two-day conference about software development. It is taking place in Virginia Beach on June 1st and 2nd. As one of the biggest conferences, Revolution conference has the goal to unite software developers in the mid-Atlantic region to discuss latest developments with regards to software.

Therefore Karina Popova will talk about the future of customer communication via different messenger channels with SMS fallback. At revolution conference, we will try to remember earlier days when SMS was one of the most used means of communication.

The Future of Delivery Messenger Channels With SMS-Fallback

The dissemination of SMS in private communication is decreasing. Commercial communication in many companies still heavily handle via SMS. Especially with regards to one-directional distribution of information from a company to its customers. As a result, SMS is often the preferred channel. In the future, this will probably change and SMS will lose this position but will only serve as a fallback. New Internet-based messengers are rolled out across the world. Because of this, they will dominate future communication. Instead of sending SMS to their customers, companies will use Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or Threema. These channels will thus become more and more important. SMS will then only be used in case an Internet-based channel is not available or for time-critical services. In her speech at the Revolution Conference 2017, Karina will give an insight into this development.  We also will take a look at the changes resulting from this.
